The opportunity:
Buller District Council are seeking someone to join the vibrant team at the Westport Airport and are excited to offer a 5 month, fixed term part time role. The role consists of half day shifts adding a great balance and flexibility to your days.
The Service Worker position includes a variety of tasks and hours (for 20 hours per week) full training and upskilling is provided. Bring your passion for aviation and customer service to the Westport Airport team!
What you’ll be doing:
We’re looking for someone that is physically fit and can adopt a ‘Safety First’ attitude that will ensure safe passage of the people and aircraft of our commercial flight service. It’s an interesting, practical and physical role that will challenge and reward you. If you are keen for aviation, can communicate well, are willing to learn and have a good awareness of safety, this is a diverse role you will enjoy.
Who are you?
You will be a self-driven person who takes initiative when it comes to health and safety and you will need to be confident and comfortable working alone. You will display flexibility, attention to detail and an ability to work independently, as well as a be part of a wider team achieving agreed goals. You will need to be physically fit to enable loading and unloading of passenger’s baggage and the general maintenance requirements. Customer Service will be a natural ability for you, along with a desire to develop new skills.
