Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As a Casual, you'll the first point of contact for our ngā kiritaki (customers), the face of BNZ on the branch floor. We are looking for someone who can provide casual cover across our Nelson, Richmond and Motueka branches. Your ability to engage and listen to customers will be critical to your success in this role. What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

  • Discuss with customers service related enquires on bank products and services
  • Able to refer customers that have further needs to right channel
  • Helping customers use our technology options - SMART ATM, Internet Banking
  • Recording of your conversations had with customers
  • Being part of a team, able to assist with tasks required on day to day basis - change orders , ATM clearance, cash orders

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

If you're interested in a career in Banking, this could be your place to start! However this is casual employment, therefore there are no guaranteed minimum hours of work and regular pattern of work. But no two days are the same for our Casuals and you'll have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills in Banking.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?

We need a people person for this role and what's most important is a genuine desire to help customers. Banking experience is not required, we can teach you the banking side of the role, but you will have previously customer service experience and ideally within a fast-paced environment. You'll deal with a variety of enquires from a wide range of customers, so you'll need to bring a can-do attitude, resilience and logical approach to problem solving. You'll deal with transactional enquiries from customers, so attention to detail is of the upmost importance.

What is the tīma (team) culture and environment like?

We have a great tīma, across Nelson, Richmond and Motueka, with many of the employees working across all of the branches. You'll work with so many awesome tāngata (people), who support and learn from each other.
